Coffeehouse by Dillon’s

A small coffeehouse on Dominion Avenue, a few steps off King Street, with a handful of tables outside and a room that fills quickly at lunch.

The café counter covers espresso drinks and iced lattes and the rest of what proper baristas turn out, with a lunch menu built around bagels and sandwiches. Gelato is the other draw, in flavours that reach past the usual, stracciatella and pistachio among them.

Hours are short and the room is small, which is part of why regulars arrive at the same time each week.

Among the independent cafes and coffee shops in downtown Midland this is one of the smaller rooms, and one of the easier ones to walk past. Tucked behind the King Street shopfronts, within a short walk of the harbour.
